Yes, please – for CO2-neutral sea freight solutions
As an industrial company, it is inevitable for us to emit CO2 into the atmosphere.
This applies, among other things, to for sea freight (container shipments), where we emitted 93 tonnes of CO2* last year. We want to take responsibility for this, and we are therefore involved in Kuehne+Nagel's climate-neutral sea freight solution, where we compensate for our CO2 consumption by contributing to environmental projects.
Specifically, in 2022 and 2023, we have chosen to contribute financially via higher ship freight rates to the project The Breathing Space Improved Cooking Stoves Programme. A project that supports something as basic as better cooking opportunities for women in India. Cooking in India often takes place over an open fire indoors, which is both harmful to health and the environment. Through the project, they are to be offered energy-efficient, improved stoves for households.
The climate-neutral sea freight solution is part of the world goals 3 Health and well-being, 13 Climate action and 15 Life on land. Read more about our work with the UN's World Goals
